The country of Hyrule encompasses the majority of the civilized world, where Hylians and most other known races reside. Geographically, the landmass referred to as Hyrule encompasses two distinct halves, notably Northern Hyrule and Southern Hyrule. The Eastern Sea, or at least part of it, is widely considered to be a portion of Hyrule as well. All who reside in Hyrule are generally referred to as "Hyruleans," and most of them speak the Hylian language.

The land encompasses many different climates over a span exceeding 100,000 square miles, including arctic regions to the north, tropical islands to the east, savannas in the south, and mountains to the west. Its central area encompasses desert terrain, marshlands, various woodlands, fields, rivers, lakes, bays, mountains, and hills. Monsters are known to roam outside of cities, and as such more remote regions are not fully mapped. It is common for travelers to wander into locales seemingly undiscovered or forgotten by the people of Hyrule.

It is commonly believed that Hylians are the most widespread land-dwelling race in Hyrule. Most Hylians, and their allies, thus consider Castle Town to be the official capitol and largest city of Hyrule, and its Royal Family to be the ultimate rulers of the land. Any who follow Ganon, however, would instead claim the King of Darkness himself to be the true ruler, and mark Death Mountain as the capitol.

Notably, Subrosians reside in the land of Subrosia, which lies well beneath Hyrule, an underground country. Though it is not widely known, the Twilight Realm is loosely and magically connected to Hyrule, explaining its handful of Twili inhabitants.

A History of Dawn to Darkness
An account of Hyrule's recent history is cataloged in a manuscript referred to as A History of Dawn to Darkness. This script entails the details of Ganon's invasion of Southern Hyrule, which took place roughly 18 years ago. It is believed this script was originally created by a long lost sage, who some know by the name Bitoko. A replication of this script is found below.

:Even before the first stones of civilization, before the first sons and daughters and kings and queens, evil has always lurked in the lands of Hyrule. Far off, distant beyond imagination, yet somehow near beyond focus. The shadow around the corner, a glimpse in your eye, or in the stories told at night, even the peaceful people of Hyrule held fears for the darkness. Perhaps they had simply passed too many myths down over the years, or perhaps it is simply in the nature of people to hold fears, but long before anyone could say they had seen it, evil had a name in the lands of Hyrule.

:Ganon, they called him. A terrible creature, wrought from the purest malice and greed that could rest in the heart of anything alive. Some said he was once a man, driven beyond humanity by the deepest forms of evil that rest far below the earth. Others said he was always a beast, the king of savages who had risen to herald evil’s name wherever he walked. A cursed creature, Ganon’s very footsteps were said to corrupt the very life they crushed. The known likes of evil, savagery, hatred, and blackness held no comparison to the one they called Ganon. To some, Ganon would only be an idea of pure rancidness and darkness, the cause of your nightmares and the path to corruption; others truly believed the monster to be real. For all, though, the name was ash on the tongue, a thought to be perished before conception.

:When the world revealed the birth of evil itself, Hyrule mourned. South of the Lower Wilds, the King of Darkness reared his monstrous head with a vengeance for Hyrule’s blood. Armored in corruption and wielding a portion of Din’s power, Ganon arrived in Hyrule with an army of destruction at his back. With ferocity unknown to the inhabitants, he led his assault as a scourge upon the land, ravaging villages and sacking towns as he went. Survivors were not expected.

:Southern Hyrule, the child of the more aged nation of Northern Hyrule, was all but defenseless to the coming storm. While always a tough and rugged bunch, no amount of defense could have stopped the wave of darkness from covering their lands. Those who would live to tell of the atrocities they witnessed often wished they had not lived at all, and the civilization of the south was reduced to rubble in under a year of conquest. Ganon’s domination was all but complete, and those alive were forced into hiding. Caves, outposts, mountains and anywhere barren enough to avoid evil’s eye became the homes of the Hyruleans.

:Pockets of the living remained, but Ganon’s gaze was on a greater prize. He sought to complete the power of the goddesses that he possessed, and nothing would stand in his path. The tide of darkness moved north, and hardly three years after his appearance, Ganon’s armies prepared to lay siege on the great city of the Gorons. Wrought from stone and built by the toughest of the Hyruleans, Goron City offered the first imposition against the onslaught and for a time the rushing flows of darkness halted at the shores of the city’s walls.

:For three full years, the tower gates forged from Goron Iron stood impenetrable to Ganon’s siege, the mighty Gorons of the city fighting with strength like no other. As they received supplies from the north, they continued the fight, beating back wave after wave of evil with bombs, boulders, and courage as raw as the rocks they ate. For all their efforts, though, the noble race faced a foe of savage determination. Halfway through the third year of the siege, Ganon’s forces completed a path through the mountains and encircled the city.

:Placing the mighty dragon called Volvagia over the rear gates of the city, Ganon’s forces cut off the supply line for the Gorons, choking off any sort of attack in the narrow passes of Death Mountain. Trapped and surrounded, the Gorons began to falter. Before long, the losses were too great and the Gorons were pushed into the inner city. They held out for as long as they could, but completely trapped in their city, even escape would be difficult. The Gorons needed a savior, and the goddesses provided one.

:Clad in green and wielding the legendary Master Sword, the Hero of Legend emerged in Hyrule’s darkest hour. Signaled in advance, a group of the bravest Goron warriors burst through the lines covering the northern entrance to their city, fighting for the hope of their people. With the distraction, the Hero of Legend confronted Volvagia himself on a peak not far from Goron City, slaying the dragon and bringing courage to all of the citizens still alive. Their way free was prepared, but the city was on the verge of collapse.

:As the Gorons retreated down the other side of Death Mountain into the north, the Patriarch of Goron City and his closest brothers fought to open a way for the Hero of Legend into the center of the city. With heroism unknown to almost all of Hyrule, they grappled with evil and fell one by one as Link carved a path toward the heart of Death Mountain. Patriarch of the city and leader of his people, the mighty Goron “Big Brother” expended his life in opening the doors to the Goron Throne, opening the way for Link with his last breaths. Plunging into the darkness, the Hero of Legend vanished from the world’s eye as he confronted the King of Evil within the mountain.

:With bated breaths, every man, woman, and child waited to hear of the Hero’s plight on Death Mountain. Days turned into weeks; weeks turned into months, and the Hyruleans began to fear that their Hero had fallen. Only, despite everything, neither champion of goodness nor of evil emerged as a victor. In the aftermath of the complete taking of Goron City, both Link and Ganon could not be found. While the forces of evil remained vigilant on the shattered walls of the city, neither did they advance nor did they retreat.

:It was as if the breath of the fight had been snuffed out of the Hyruleans, waiting for an end that never seemed to come. Years passed, and the Gorons who had fled the city moved into Hyrule Castle Town, unable to go home. By word of scout, reports came in that the darkness in the south had not vanished, and talks began of organizing a fleet to send southbound. But as if wanting to conclude that Ganon may not have been real at all, many of the Hylian nobles of Castle-Town began to grow restless with the idea of war, and for more than ten long years the kingdom of Hyrule fell into stagnation.

:Always wondering and never sure, it would take years before Hyrule could bring itself to move once more. In recent days, though, darkness has churned again. While the King of Hyrule finally begins his long-delayed assault into territory mostly unknown now, the sands of fate rustle in the wind. Darkness grows once more in Southern Hyrule, a malignant disease come back to life and sniffing for prey, and those still alive wonder if they will be for long. The Hero of Legends has vanished, now, and other heroes must rise instead.

Timeline
Years are listed with both “B.G.” and “A.G.” after them. These refer to “before Ganon” and “after Ganon,” respectively. When Ganon invaded Southern Hyrule, the system that the Hylians used to keep track of years was discarded and replaced with this one. Ganon invaded in 1 A.G, and anything before that event or after that event is referred to accordingly.

* 18 A.G: Modern day.
* 6 A.G: Goron City falls. Link defeats Volvagia and enters Goron City. Ganon’s advance ceases. The war begins to stagnate.
* 3 A.G: Ganon unleashes his siege upon Goron City.

__NOTOC__
elite

Canonically, Sheikah have debuted in Ocarina of Time, and have since made reappearances in Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword.

Character Creation Brief
Sheikah are essentially a special type of Hylian with a secretive history not even Sheikah themselves seem to fully understand. Physically Sheikah are very similar to Hylians, with the only obvious difference being that Sheikah always has eyes of a crimson or violet color. More subtely, Sheikah tend to be far more courageous, confident, and willful than their Hylian brethren. Sheikah are infamous for being secretive and dutiful, often making them excellent spies, assassins, and theives. Despite their infamy, most of the world questions whether Sheikah truly exist, or if they are nothing but an erratic rumor spread about girls with odd-colored eyes.

A Sheikah begins with a PWC of 1/1/3, having a 3 in Courage. This starting PWC can be defied by using the Exception racial perk during character creation, but even with it, a Sheikah can never be created with a Courage below 2.

A Sheikah has an innate racial perk called Foreign Language, which grants it mastery over the Ancient Hyrulean language as well as the more common Hyrulean tongue. In addition to this, a Sheikah character can have up to three additional racial perks of choice. In addition to the general perks available to every race, a Sheikah can also choose from:
* Barrier: a defensive spell which creates a momentary barrier useful for blocking attacks
* Deku Nut Supply: a supply of small nuts which can be thrown onto the ground to create blinding flashes, useful for creating a diversion
* Hylian Heritage: enables the Sheikah to gain one racial perk that would otherwise be a Hylian racial perk
* Mask of Truth: a strange but useful item which enables its wearer to speak with animals and Gossip Stones, among other effects
* Needle Storm: a spell which enables the Sheikah to manifest large throwing needles useful for attacking in close combat or from a short distance
* Pirate's Charm: a useful item which magically enables long distance communication between the Sheikah and the holder of this stone

Physiology
While not vital information, the following includes further detail on the race's appearance and biology.

Physically, Sheikah are almost identical to Hylians, and are even capable of interbreeding with both Hylians and Gerudo. The steadfast difference is that a Sheikah's irises will always be crimson or violet. A Sheikah will more likely be female, and a Sheikah seems to innately have a significantly higher willpower and motivation compared to the average Hylian.

A Sheikah also tends to be more dexterous and agile than a Hylian, but not as strong as a Gerudo. However, this may simply be a result of Sheikah training.

Culture & History
While not vital information, the following includes further detail on the race's origins, development, and society.

The origin of the Sheikah race is unknown, but many believe it was a magically enhanced version of Hylians created centuries ago for the sole purpose of serving as bodyguards and assassins directly to the Hyrulean Royal Family. This may still be the case with some Sheikah, or it may be nothing but a rumor. However, there is some evidence to this belief, as several known clans train their children from birth for such purposes.

Regardless, it is apparent that a group of Sheikah were in the past somehow modified from Hylians--whether that be a natural genetic mutation, or one introduced artificially as through magic. In fact, many Sheikah unwittingly think of themselves as normal Hylians. Knowingly or not, most of these Sheikah have interbred with Hylians--and as such their line has become diluted, with only extremely rare Hylians exhibiting the Sheikah's trademark traits.

Aside from this unknowing Sheikah, there exist at least a few secret tribes of pure Sheikah heritage, most of which are presumably very small sects with perhaps not even a few dozen members. Each sect functions differently, but they are all known to be extremely secretive--which is perhaps how the populace at large questions whether Sheikah exist or are just a silly rumor started about girls with crimson eyes.

Sheikah tend to be highly motivated individuals, and thus its little surprise these sects would be home to skilled warriors and cunning sages, with each likely working towards its own goals--whether they be as noble as protecting the Royal Family, or as sinister as usurping the throne.

It can be assumed that Sheikah likely exist among any large gathering of Hylians, most notably Castle Town, but also including smaller settlements like Lon Lon Ranch, Impa, Mido, Nabooru, Ruto, and Windfall Island, among others.

What was formerly Northern Hyrule’s newest town, Impa, there remains nothing but a vacuous space in the land. Cleaved from the land, by the events that spawned the Darksea Depths, Impa had been recently built to send ships to Southern Hyrule and the various island of the Eastern Sea. The King of Hyrule desired to be able to send his armies to Southern Hyrule as soon as possible, to counteract Ganon's invasion, so he funneled rupees into its surprisingly quick construction. Logs hauled in from Woodfall and stone cut from the mountains of Hyrule were all brought to Impa and were rapidly raised into inns, houses, a town hall, and other buildings essential to the town’s growth and survival. Alongside the buildings rests a dock, fashioned from the trees of Woodfall, which holds many large ships built from the same.

However, its fast growth quickly painted the burgeoning seaport as a target. Due to events that haven't yet been entirely explained, the growing town was attacked by a beast known as Mandragora. Spawned by dark powers, which were traced to Death Mountain, the evil creature was the cause of Impa's fall into the sea. Though the threat to Impa has long been resolved, no effort has yet begun to rebuild the town, for fear of another attack. Those who fled from Impa may still live nearby, though many have certainly gone in search of other, less dangerous, places.

Impa's surrounding area is populated primarily by Hylians, but some Gorons, Rito, Zora, and even Deku Scrubs can be seen milling about the land.
A Gale Seed appears as a small, pale-blue fruit in a shape reminiscent of a tornado. This single seed is pure and potent, and as such can be useful as a material to be used by a Botanist. By contrast, an Gale Seed Supply is a collection of less pure seeds which retain the same practical use, but cannot be grown and cultivated by a Botanist. Abnormally, a Botanist requires a whopping eight of these potent seeds to cultivate a Gale Seed Supply.

When a Gale Seed makes a strong impact with a hard surface, it explodes and abruptly produces a tornado-like vortex the size of a Hylian. Gale Seeds generally do not activate if they strike a shield, armor, or if skid across the ground as from a long-distance throw. The produced vortex will draw in anything within a couple feet, and launch it upwards with a powerful draft. A typical Hylian will be shot upwards about 10 feet (or 3 meters), forcing him to land uncomfortably without control over his trajectory. Most other creatures will similarly be shot up a distance that is painful to land from, but not inherently damaging.
Seed Effects
By using three Gale Seeds, along with at least three other seeds, a Botanist is able to create a Seed Supply with one of the following effects. These effects will combine with the effects of other seed types used as materials.
This can be enough to knock down a Hylian, if the target hasn't braced against the blast.
|-
| Breeze || style="text-align: left"| This seed's effect is activated when it is thrown, shot, or otherwise launched in a direction parallel to the ground. The direction of the wind will rapidly change to whatever direction the seed was launched, and persist in that direction for several minutes unless otherwise changed. If there is no wind, a gentle breeze will be created for several minutes.
| Jet Punch || style="text-align: left"| After one seed is eaten, the next physical contact the eater makes will cause more push than normal. A powerful gust of wind will accompany the next punch, kick, or headbutt. Indirect hits, such as from a sword or projectile, are unaffected. The gust alone is enough to send a Korok flying, or knock down a creature as heavy as a Goron.
|-
| Glide || style="text-align: left"| As long as one seed is held in the user's palm, if the user falls more than a few feet (or a couple meters), his descent will abruptly slow down. In effect, the user becomes able to glide as if using a parachute.
|-
| style=white-space:nowrap|Hover Step || style="text-align: left"| After one seed is eaten, the next time the user jumps, walks off a ledge, or otherwise becomes significantly airborne, she will hover in mid air for up to 10 seconds.
| Whisper || style="text-align: left"| This effect can only be combined with another effect that triggers on impact. In addition to activating on impact, the user can choose to activate the seed by whispering a certain phrase, uniquely chosen by the Botanist.
Elixir Effects
Ember Seeds can also be combined with specific quantities of other seeds to create a PerQuest Elixir with one of the following effects. As usual, the Botanist is able to produce multiple elixirs if her Botanist level is high enough.
{| class="wikitable" style="text-align: center;width: 100%"
Large items may become trapped on its mouth, while smaller items get sucked inside--and may clog it if too many items are sucked. When this bottle is uncorked to the right, the mouth instead bellows forth a tremendous gale which blows with comparable force. In either case, the effect continues regardless of whether or not the bottle is held, and will eventually end on its own after a couple minutes.
|-
| Bottled Blizzard || style=white-space:nowrap| 2 Gale + 2 Chill || style="text-align: left"|By uncorking or breaking this bottle, a ferocious blizzard abruptly appear, filling a relatively large area and tearing through it for several minutes. The blizzard is blinding, frigid, and windy, but far from lethal. This is enough to fill most dungeon rooms, or a district of an average-sized town. The user gains no protection from the blizzard, and the blizzard usually centers on the user.
|-
| Bottled Storm || style=white-space:nowrap| 2 Gale + 2 Crackle || style="text-align: left"|By uncorking or breaking this bottle, a ferocious electrical storm abruptly appears, filling a relatively large area with black clouds. Rain downpours and wind flurries. There may be a few lightning bolts which strike, and are drawn to metal like normal lightning, but much less potent and thus not fully lethal. This is enough to fill most dungeon rooms, or a district of an average-sized town. The user gains no protection from the storm, and the storm usually centers on the user.
The user is able to sustain flight with these wings for a span of couple minutes, and do so almost as well as a winged Rito. However, this two-minute span does not necessarily need to be continuous. The user could, for instance, fly or glide for a few seconds at a time over the course of an hour.
|-
| Spectral Potion || style=white-space:nowrap| 4 Gale + 4 Smoke || style="text-align: left"|After drinking this potion, the drinker's body (and everything carried on it) becomes almost entirely transparent, nothing but a faint afterimage of their normal appearance. While in this state, the drinker is able to pass through physical objects, even solid walls. The drinker also becomes capable of gently floating in any direction he chooses, albeit at a very slow speed. However, the user is also unable to interact with other physical objects during this time, and is unable to affect the world around them except through sound and sight. This effect will subside after a couple minutes--and it is highly recommended for the drinker's safety that he is not overlapping with physical objects when he reappears.
Trivia
* Gale Seeds canonically appear in the Zelda series, in Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages. More about the canonical version of these seeds can likely be found on Zeldawiki.
* Most Seed Effects and Elixir Effects are original creations of Hyrule Castle's members.

Canonically, Koroks have only appeared in The Wind Waker.

Character Creation Brief
stub

A Korok begins with a PWC of 1/2/1. This starting PWC can be defied by using the Exception racial perk during character creation.

A Korok has an innate racial perk called Plant Composition, which summaries its unique properties as a plant-based creation, as well as another known as Water Hop. In addition to this, a Korok character can have up to three racial perks of choice. Aside from the general perks available to every race, a Korok can also choose from:
* Deku Leaf: a useful item which can be used as a parachute to glide, or be swung to create a magically powerful gust
* Heart of the Forest: a trait which makes it easier to acquire Forest-based treasures
* Korok Copter: a useful technique requiring a Deku Leaf, which enables the Korok to fly
* Language of Flora: a useful spell which enables the Korok to communicate with plant life
* Potioncraft: a trait which makes it much easier to acquire Red Potions and Green Potions
* Seed Expertise: makes it easier for the Korok to acquire Seed treasures, gain a free Seed Supply

Recommended Origin
If you've never made a character before and intend to make a Korok, it is highly encouraged that you base your character on one of the following origins. If you've made a character before, these example origins may provide inspiration for your character.
