The Sand Wand, also known as the Sand Rod, appears as a strange rod, adorned at the tip with a strange ornament. When pointed in the direction of sand, it will cause the sand to rapidly rise up to form a giant cube of sand, six feet (or 2 meters) on every side. The cube remains as hard as rock for approximately ten seconds, after which it falls down into normal sand once more. With sufficient sand, any number of these cubes can be formed. A practiced user can create any number of cubes in a straight line simultaneously, causing an entire line of adjacent cubes strong enough to walk across.
As a strange side-effect, anyone struck forcefully with this rod will be stunned and dazed for a moment from the sand's magic, but not damaged.

The user can gain the Sand Pillar augment simultaneously with the original treasure for an additional cost, or as a separate treasure at a later time. When a wand with this augment is used, the cubes of sand will remain hardened for up to an hour's time, or until the user designates them to disperse with a specific motion of the sand wand.
The Sand Wand treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in Spirit Tracks. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
