Blessed by the power of the Goddess Din, '''Fireshield Earrings''' protect their weater from extremely hot environments, and prevent the wearer from catching fire. To gain these benefits, exactly one pair must be worn, not a single earring nor more than two. Its protective benefits are quantified in two separate effects:

First, if fire sprouts up anywhere on the user's body or clothing, the Fireshield Earrings will activate within a few seconds to extinguish the flames, and keep them from spreading. This does not prevent or heal any damage initially dealt.

Second, when the user is exposed to a hot environment, the Fireshield Earrings will use magic to slowly adapt the user's body to the temperature of the surrounding environment, so long as it is above room temperature. This process takes approximately a minute, and has a limit to the temperature it can reduce.

The combination of these two effects negates any [[Fire Weakness]] the user may have. The earrings also enable safe traversion of the volcanic land of Subrosia.

==Specific Quantification==
For most wearers, knowing the Fireshield Earrings protect from heated environments is sufficient, but occasionally the exact extent by which it protects may become necessary information. To quantify the earrings' protection, they will effectively reduce any temperature above room temperature by approximately 90%. Since room temperature is about 70°F, the wearer can treat 300°F as if it was 93°F. (The actual temperature of 300°F is subtracted from room temperature of approximately 70°F, leaving a difference of 230°F. From there, 90% of 230°F is 23°F. Then, 23°F is added to 70°F to determine the approximate temperature felt by the wearer, which in this case is 93°F. Using 90% decrease functions for both Fahrenheit and Celsius measurements of temperature.) The exact degree an individual can endure with Fireshield Earrings thus varies on his or her personal endurance, but can be useful for any wearer who isn't [[Infernal Composition|completely impervious]] to heat. Because the earrings take up to a minute to reach full effect, they cannot provide immediate protection from any sudden change in temperature.
