'''Hover''' is a versatile utility spell.

This treasure is a [[racial perk]] of [[Poe]]s and [[Ascending Fairy|Ascending Fairies]]. As such, a member of either race can choose to gain it as a perk upon character creation. If a Poe or fairy chooses to gain this perk at some point after creation, the perk costs 15 rupees less than the listed price. For any member of either race, this treasure is treated as a constant [[:Category:Traits|trait]] instead of a spell. Other races acquire this treasure normally.

This spell can be cast at will, and sustained with almost no effort for as long as the caster is conscious. While it is in effect, the user's body begins to resist the effects of gravity, and she has a sensation of being incredibly light. Her entire body can balance on little more than the touch of her toe against the ground. Despite this, her body still has normal mass, she doesn't gain increased jumping ability, and most external forces affect her normally. With little more than a thought, she can float higher, to a distance of roughly half her height. (For a six-foot caster, she would be able to have her toes float above ground by about three feet.) While floating in this way, she is able to float as fast as she would be able to run, but fast travel requires just as much stamina as running normally. Hovering can traverse over water or similar hazardous terrain.
