A mount is roughly defined as a non-flying creature commonly used for riding in at least one region of Hyrule. This includes but is not necessarily limited to a horse, mule, or camel. (Although they are not commonly used for riding in Hyrule itself, giant fish can be used as a swimming mount in the Great Sea, or other large areas of water.) The mount does not have supernatural or extraordinary abilities for a creature of its kind. The mount may be used in combat, but as a general rule lacks sufficient combat strength, and will usually lose in one-on-one combat to a decently strong monster.

[[Picori]] may be limited on the size of their riding mounts, but are generally allowed to choose more unusual creatures to be used as riding mount--such as a hamster--so long as such a creature does not exceed the normal limitations of a riding mount.
