'''Mush-Mushsproing''' is a spell with a primarily defensive intent. To cast it, the user must place one palm on dirt or another natural surface and concentrate for several seconds. Initially, the only cue that the spell succeeded was a slightly off-color circle on the ground, which is usually about 1 meter (or 3 feet) across.
Whenever a creature weighing at least as much as a housecat or cucco steps on the placed circle, an eruption of spores will launch out from the base and perimeter of the trap directly upward. They launch upward incredibly swiftly and it is near impossible to avoid them. These spores will cling to any creatures or objects touched, and almost immediately begin growing into long, spongy and unwieldy mushrooms that are surprisingly heavy and cumbersome for their size, but not impossible to carry. These mushrooms can make it difficult to use a balanced weapon, cut with a blade, or harder to move, among other things. Within one trigger of Mush-Mushsproing, around 12 mushrooms will grow, as a majority of the spores die almost instantly upon contact with the air. Because of this, they cannot be bottled and are effectively harmless for creatures standing outside of the perimeter of the spell. The mushrooms can be torn off relatively easily, and contact with any sort of flame will cause them to instantly shrivel up and fall off.

The caster can create up to three of these off-color circles on any patch of ground at one time, and creating a new one will replace the oldest circle created. However, once the trap is sprung and the mushrooms are created, the mushrooms will stay even if successive casts of this spell are used. If the mushrooms are not torn off or destroyed, they will naturally shrivel up and fall off after roughly a day’s time.
