While not unfathomably large, the Kokiri Forest stretches into the mountains, and much of its size is only a map-maker’s best guess. The Great Deku Tree, father of the [[Kokiri]] and guardian of the forest, rests in the heart of these woods near Kokiri Village--a quaint settlement of Kokiri, with huts constructed from ancient trees. The Deku Tree&#039;s magic has long kept the secrets of the Kokiri safe from those who would harm them, and when [[Ganon]] attacked the lands, his evil found no root in Kokiri Forest. Between the power of the Deku Tree and the guerilla tactics of the [[Deku Scrub]]s who serve as guardians to the Kokiri, these lands have been kept safe from darkness even in the last fifteen years.<br /> <br /> Another, lesser known race that calls Kokiri Forest home is the [[Korok]]. Servants of the Great Deku Tree, these little creatures do their best to keep themselves hidden as they spread the seeds of the Deku Tree throughout Hyrule.
