Stretching for miles upon miles, '''Moruge Swamp''' blankets all of what might be called the peninsula of [[Northern Hyrule]], which bends south of the great [[Lake Hylia]]. Being covered in moss, trees, and varying levels of water, this swamp is a challenging one to cross and many have died attempting to do so. At times, the swamp itself acts as a maze, where some parts have foliage so thick it may be easy to get lost. Not only is the flora and funa itself hazarous, but constant tribal wars erupt from the feral green [[Zora]], ferocious [[Lizalfos]], [[Race:Deku Scrub|Mad Scrub]]s, and octoroks who inhabit this region.

The green Zora, which are not to be confused with the blue Zora that live in [[Zora’s Domain]], nourish themselves off of the various fish whom float around Moruge Swamp. When they find an intruder upon their grounds, their heads will surface as they shoot balls of fire at them; occasionally they will attack physically, using swords and shields. For generations the Zora of Lake Hylia have kept along Moruge Swamp, making sure the River Zora do not expand into their lake and taint their waters. Some of the Zora Guard have even set up camp in Moruge Swamp, turning this effort that was once only to maintain borders into an ongoing battle of hatred; this “feud” has lead to many Zora deaths.

While Zora rule the waters, Lizalfos have claimed most of the land. These monstrous reptilian humanoids spare nothing when it comes to conquering as much of their homeland of Moruge as possible, constantly attacking any green Zora they can catch. Mad Scrubs are not as significant threats to them, so long as distance is kept.

The last predominant species that inhabits Moruge Swamp is the Mad Scrubs, a distinct tribe of the Deku race who sprout red-ish orange leaves. These Deku make their homes in logs and old trees that spot the swamp, sometimes even burrowing underground. They are a very territorial tribe, shooting [[Deku Nut Supply|Deku Nut]]s at any unwelcome guests. The Zora of Lake Hylia made sure to make friends with these Mad Scrubs, for they already had enough to deal with barring in mind the River Zora, Lizalfos and octorocks. While the Mad Scrubs may be hostile to most, they are occasionally very hospitable to others.
