Built on the solid rock flats found deep under the dunes of [[Tantari Desert]], Rauru sat atop a large aquifer and oasis, which allowed its [[Hylian]] inhabitants to flourish despite the surrounding desert. With a firm foundation, Rauru became a strong settlement, capable of defending itself and bolstering a strong economy. With his invasion, [[Ganon]]’s forces, however, would find no rival in them. When news of the invasion struck Rauru, many stayed to defend their home, dying valiantly in an effort to deny the King of Darkness even one more victory. Rauru’s defeat sounded the end of any true resistance for the Hylians, yielding the forces of evil a stronghold of a town that is still kept to this day. Little remains of Rauru today but empty, crumbling buildings without inhabitants.
