'''Quicksand''' is a defensive spell which can be used to place a trap. At will, the caster may touch a small area of ground and cause it to change, regardless of its composition, to gain the sinking properties of quicksand. The targeted area bubbles slightly, and moves as quicksand would if disturbed, but otherwise appears as if it was normal ground. The trap is approximately 6 feet (or 2 meters) deep. Any victim who falls into this magical quicksand foot-first will never be pulled past the neck, and as such, the quicksand spell alone is not fatal.

An instance of magical quicksand ends after 24 hours, or when the user casts the spell to create a new trap. Any beings or objects within the trap are harmlessly returned to the surface above where the trap was located.
