A Kokiri begins with a [[PWC]] of 1/1/2. This starting PWC can be defied by using the [[Exception]] racial perk during character creation.

A Kokiri has an innate racial perk called [[Eternal Youth]], which summaries its unique properties and immunity to aging effects. In addition to this, a Kokiri character can have up to three [[racial perks]] of choice. Aside from the general perks available to every race, a Kokiri can also choose from:
* [[Deku Nut Supply]]: a supply of small nuts which can be thrown onto the ground to create blinding flashes, useful for creating a diversion
* [[Fairy Companion]]: the Kokiri gains a companion, of the common "Tiny Fairy" variety; almost all Kokiri have such a companion
* [[Heart of the Forest]]: a trait which makes it easier to acquire {{Field|Forest}}-based treasures
* [[Navigation]]: a trait which functions as an internal compass, enabling the Kokiri to maneuver in spite of mazes, illusions, or other hindrances to the senses
* [[Language of Fauna]]: a useful spell which enables the Kokiri to communicate with animal life
* [[Valiance]]: a trait which enables the Kokiri to begin with additional [[:Category:Courage-based|Courage-based]] treasures

They are considered one and all to be the children of the [[Great Deku Tree]], and have a strange relationship with him which appears to be a mix of filial piety and outright worship. He is guardian and creator of the Kokiri race, and has kept them safe from outside wars for time immemorial.
