Clockwork Keese is a mechanical item. It appears as a magical pouch which has small, mechanical bats inside bearing the likeness of Keese. However, instead of wings, these Keese have four long, thin needle-like mechanical legs protruding from their back they can use to walk. They are adept at digging through the ground, and these needles are so precise they can dig without making loud noises or leaving a hole. While underground, the Clockwork Keese is able to sense movements in the ground around it through a kind of tremorsense, and can leap out of the ground to attempt to attack a target by stabbing at it with its pointed legs. This attack isn’t particularly powerful, but is quick and somewhat difficult to predict or block. They are not durable, and a light blow is generally enough to heavily damage or put them out of commission. The user does not directly control a Clockwork Keese, but may give it simple orders it will obey, such as “attack” or “scout”.

The magical pouch is large enough to hold up to three Clockwork Keese at a time, and all three may be used simultaneously if available. When one Clockwork Keese is destroyed or damaged beyond use, it will begin generating a replacement, a process that takes roughly 1 hour per Clockwork Keese. It replaces the Clockwork Keese one at a time.
