A pair of Harvest Rings appear as a pair of small, cheaply-made rings of opposite colors. Commonly, one is orange and the other is black. For the rings to function, each one must be worn by the same person on opposite hands.
To use the rings' magical effect, the user must push her hands together, focus, then pull them apart. A magically-created pumpkin will form in the space between the user's palms. In this way, the wearer can create a pumpkin of numerous different sizes. Summoning a new pumpkin will replace the previous, causing it to abruptly vanish in a poof of smoke. A summoned pumpkin is identical to a normal pumpkin in seemingly all ways, except that it tastes bland and provides no nourishment when consumed.
If the wearer uses a Fire Enchantment, Light Enchantment, or Shadow Enchantment on a pumpkin created by these rings, the pumpkin may--at the caster's discretion--transform into a carved jack-o-lantern lit inside by a small magical fire. The face of the jack-o-lantern appears to be random.
Harvest Rings are popular toys in certain small villages of Hyrule, and may be a common sight, particularly among those raised in rural areas. Generally, any individual with a decent amount of magical knowledge will be able to identify Harvest Rings and their pumpkins.

The user can gain the Jack Rings augment can be simultaneously with the original treasure, or separately at a later time.
A pair of rings with his enchantment is known as "Jack Rings" instead of "Harvest Rings." Unlike their predecessor, Jack Rings are constantly alight with a very dull glow which is faintly visible in darkness.
In addition to the normal effects of Harvest Rings, a holder of Jack Rings may transform her pumpkin after it has been summoned. By snapping fingers of both hands simultaneously, the pumpkin will abruptly transform into a carved jack-o-lantern lit inside by a small magical fire. The face of the jack-o-lantern appears to be random, but can be changed by the wearer with another snap of her fingers. As usual, summoning a new pumpkin replaces this one.
Trivia
- The Harvest Rings treasure is an original creation by one of Hyrule Castle's members. Its concept is credited to Doc Genz.
