A cannon in Hyrule functions similarly, but not identically, to a real-life equivalent. Instead of a fuse, cannons generally only have a cord which needs to be pulled to fire. A cannonball (which can be acquired as common items) or other ammunition must be loaded in each time, but does not need to be pushed down and does not require additional powder. If the user has Bombs, they can be fired in place of cannonballs, and will not detonate when fired, but instead explode on impact.

Trivia

  • The Sky Cannon is a much larger and more powerful cannon, but is more difficult to move, and more costly.
  • The Cannon treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in The Wind Waker. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
