Cannon Shout is a powerful offensive technique. This is a Major treasure. A character who has never gained a Major treasure may gain this treasure normally. Otherwise, the character must first acquire Major Gain specifically to gain this treasure.
To use this technique, the user must thrust both hands together in front of his body while shouting. Using this technique causes a spherical object slightly larger than the user's head to launch forward from his palms, with the density of a cannonball, and the speed of such a ball being launched out of a canon. The object normally appears as a faintly glowing orb of white or cyan color. The user is able to perform a Cannon Shout as often as he is able to thrust his hands and shout, though generally no more than once every couple seconds.
The cost category of this technique can be reduced if the user already has specific treasures. This spell's cost cannot be reduced below lowest, and despite its cost it will always be treated as a Major treasure. For each of the following treasures the user possesses, Cannon Shout's cast category is reduced one step:
- Fire Rod or Fire
- Ice Rod or Ice
- Bolt Ball Rod, Magical Rod, or Magic Bolt
- Shadow Ball
- Holy Bolt
- Wind
Elemental Variants
- If the user has a Fire Enchantment, a Fire Rod, or the Fire spell, he is able to instead create a flaming version of the projectile, known as a "Fire Shout." This treasure also becomes part of the Fire field.
- If the user has an Ice Enchantment, an Ice Rod, or the Ice spell, he is able to instead create a freezing version of the projectile, known as a "Ice Shout." This treasure also becomes part of the Ice field.
- If the user has a Shock Enchantment, a Bolt Ball Rod, Magical Rod, or the Magic Bolt spell, he is able to instead create a freezing version of the projectile, known as a "Bolt Shout." This treasure also becomes part of the Electric field.
- If the user has a Shadow Enchantment, or the Shadow Ball spell, he is able to instead create a version of the projectile empowered with shadow, known as a "Shadow Shout." This treasure also becomes part of the Shadow field.
- If the user has a Light Enchantment, or the Holy Bolt spell, he is able to instead create a version of the projectile empowered with light, known as a "Holy Shout." This treasure also becomes part of the Light field.
