Named after a legendary implement, a '''Cane of Byrna''' appears blue, with a rounded tip, and usually has a length equal to the length of the wielder's arm.  By pouring one's raw magic power into the cane and swinging it, a spark of blue light jets out from the tip in an arced trajectory, towards any creature the swinger designates.  The blue spark then begins to orbit the creature.  For the duration of this effect, all damage the targeted creature would receive does not harm them, but instead harms the user.  The effect will end (the spark will disappear), if the cane leaves the wielder's position, if the cane is swung again, or if the wielder loses consciousness.

Named after a legendary implement, a Cane of Byrna appears blue, with a rounded tip, and usually has a length equal to the length of the wielder's arm.

Trivia

  • A Weaponsmith can treat a Cane of Byrna as a material for the purpose of combining its effects with other materials or treasures into one weapon. For determining how many materials the Weaponsmith can craft into one item, treat this item as though it had a set cost of 15 rupees.
  • The Bladed Healing spell has a similar effect of harming the caster to protect another being.
  • The Cane of Byrna treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in A Link to the Past. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki. Unlike the canonical version, this treasure doesn't make its user invincible.
