Roc's Feather is a utility item, appearing as a somewhat large bird feather. As long as one holds it, the feather's empowering effect causes the user's body to become capable of jumping two to three times higher than it would otherwise be able.

A woodworker or tailor can treat a Roc's Feather as a Material. For a crafter who can use Roc's Feather as a material, its cost is never more than 35 rupees . When the feather is incorporated into worn armor or a garment, the wearer gains the effect of holding Roc's Feather.

The user can gain the Roc's Cape augment simultaneously with the original treasure, or separately at a later time. Once the augment is gained, the feather becomes a cape the user can wear.

While the user is leaping with the effect of Roc's Cape, they can abruptly summon more energy to jump again in mid-air, but only with strength equal to a normal jump (as opposed to the initial, enhanced jump). This second jump can also be used as a slow glide down to ground, but one which is only effective in a single, unchanging direction. Varying from that direction will result in an alarming drop in speed.

Trivia

  • An identical effect can be acquired with the Jump spell and its augment, Glide.
  • The Roc's Feather treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in Link's Awakening. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
