Flippers, also known as Zora's Flippers, usually appear as a literal pair of blue flippers worn on the feet. This version is the normal 10 rupee cost. Rare variations include a pendant or brooch, a tattoo, or other handier items, which instead cost 15 rupees, due to their comparative ease of use.
So long as the item is worn, the wearer has remarkable strength and endurance when it comes to remaining afloat in water, regardless of the weight of any gear on his person, and regardless of the turbulence of the water's surface. The user does not become buoyant, instead just gaining extreme proficiency at treading water. With Zora's Flippers, even a knight clad in full steel plate could swim across a river with ease. The wearer's ability to swim is slightly augmented as well, but not to the same extreme measures as his ability to tread water.
Generally, the Flippers do not aid the wearer to carry large or heavy objects in their arms. For example, even if a strong person could carry a boulder on land, the flippers likely will not enable them do so in water.
Trivia
