Nose for Treasure
Type Utility Technique
Fields Earth, Mogma, PerQuest, Rupee
Cost 45 rupees

Nose for Treasure is a utility technique, and a racial perk for Mogmas. As such, a Mogma can choose to gain it as a perk upon character creation. If a Mogma chooses to gain this perk at some point after creation, the perk costs 15 rupees less than the listed cost.

Mogmas have a natural instinct to find treasure, which is only enhanced further by their culture's emphasis on treasure hunting as a worthwhile endeavor. Because of this, many Mogmas have an easy time locating hard-to-find rupees or other trinkets. Other races have to considerably train themselves to match this capability. Once per quest or dungeon, a user of this technique can either acquire additional plain rupees, or additional rupees for any Material with a set cost. In either case, this is a PerQuest treasure of the Rupee field. As such, it cannot be used in combination with other Rupee PerQuest treasures.

If rupees are chosen, the Mogma must role-play finding the rupees, and gains an additional 5 rupees at the end of his quest or dungeon. These rupees cannot be used towards the reward of the quest or dungeon the Mogma is currently in.

If a material is chosen, the Mogma gains an additional 10 rupees to spend on any Materials with a set cost within this quest or dungeon. The treasure must be found within the affected quest. These bonus rupees can be combined with the Mogma's quest rupees to pay for the material. Any leftover rupees not spent on a material are forever lost.
