A Smoke Seed appears as a small fruit, with a gray color. When a Smoke Seed is struck against a hard surface, it bursts open to rapidly fill a small-room-size worth of smoke. Several of them can be used simultaneously to fill larger areas with smoke. These seeds work effectively as as slingshot ammunition, but can also be thrown by hand.
The Smoke Seed Supply is a Stock treasure gives the owner an effectively infinite supply of these seeds, costing a set 40 rupees. An individual Smoke Seed is a Single-Use item, can be acquired at a cost of 5 rupees. An individual Smoke Seed can only be used once.
A Botanist can craft with individual Smoke Seeds (but not with a supply of them). A skilled botanist can use 3 single Smoke Seeds to craft an Smoke Seed Supply. He can also create a Smoke Seed Supply by combining 2 Ember Seeds and 2 Chill Seeds. Using 4 individual seeds, the botanist can splice the Smoke Seed's smoke-cloud effect into a supply of other seeds, fruits, or vegetables.
Variant
In place of a Smoke Seed Supply, a character may instead choose to gain a Smoke Bomb Supply for the same cost. Smoke Bombs usually appear as small spheres, which seem to be composed of tightly-wound white threads. Unlike Smoke Seeds, this treasure is considered a mechanical item instead of an organic item. Furthermore, it lacks the Seed field.
An individual Smoke Bomb can be acquired in place of an individual Smoke Seed, for the same price.
Trivia
- The Ember Seed Supply, Chill Seed Supply, and Glow Seed Supply are seen as counterparts to the Smoke Seed Supply.
- The Smoke Seed Supply treasure is an original creation by one of Hyrule Castle's members. Its concept is credited to Guy.
