The Flame Rod is a magical item which can be used to produce an offensive spell-like effect. A Flame Rod appears as a scepter, usually comparable in length to the wielder's arm, colored red, with a dimly-glowing red gem at its tip.
To activate the rod, the user must swing it downwards while focusing his magical energy through it. From the scepter's tip shoots a small fiery projectile, which behaves like a flaming ball of oil as it descends quickly to the ground. Upon striking the ground, the ball abruptly explodes into a large pillar of swirling fire roughly 10 feet (or 3 meters) in height. This pillar of flames slides forward over the ground at a brisk walking speed for a few seconds, before disappearing.
Normally, the wielder can use the Flame Rod's magical effect once every 10 seconds. The rod will not function until its energy is recharged.

The user can gain the Flame Geyser augment simultaneously with the original treasure for an additional cost, or as a separate treasure at a later time. A Flame Rod with this augment will produce a drastically large pillar of flames which reaches a height of up to 30 feet (or 9 meters), slides forward at a brisk jogging pace, and lasts thrice as long as the normal pillar. It can still be summoned once every 10 seconds.
Trivia
The Flame Rod treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, in A Link Between Worlds, where it was known as the "Fire Rod." On Hyrule Castle, the Fire Rod is a separate treasure with a different effect. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
