The Glacier Rod is a magical item which can be used to produce an offensive spell-like effect. A Glacier Rod appears as a scepter, usually comparable in length to the wielder's arm, colored blue, with a dimly-glowing blue gem at its tip.
To activate the rod, the user must swing it downwards while focusing his magical energy through it. When the rod is swing, a large roughly cylinder-shaped block of magical ice appears approximately 20 feet (or 6 meters) above the ground where the wielder stands. The block of ice quickly falls down, striking immediately in front of where the wielder stood when he swung the rod. A moment after striking, the ice block will break apart, then disappear. If used cleverly, the rod's effect can also be used to strike airborne foes as well as grounded ones. Aside from the physical impact of the ice block, the magic stored in the ice will momentarily freeze any unlucky target in place for a moment, hindering movement.
Normally, the wielder can use the Glacier Rod's magical effect once every 10 seconds. The rod will not function until its energy is recharged.

Additional Cost |
Lowest Cost W5: 10 rupees |
The user can gain the Glacier Quad augment simultaneously with the original treasure for an additional cost, or as a separate treasure at a later time. A Glacier Quad with this augment will produce four ice blocks simultaneously with one swing of the rod, all of which function like the original block. They are all summoned simultaneously at the same height, forming a diamond-like shape above the ground. They all drop simultaneously, thus covering four times the area of the normal rod's single ice block. The four ice blocks can still be manifested every 10 seconds, just like one could be summoned previously. Intentionally summoning less than four blocks will not reduce the recharge time required.
Trivia
The Glacier Rod treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, in A Link Between Worlds, where it was known as the "Ice Rod." On Hyrule Castle, the Ice Rod is a separate treasure with a different effect. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
