Blessed Bismuth is a defensive magical item. As a a material, this treasure is intended to be used in crafting. A blacksmith can smelt it into an object he crafts.
This silvery-pink metal was used to craft the legendary Sacred Shield of ancient legends. This metal is innately frail, causing any object made from it to be particularly brittle. However, this material (and any object made from it) slowly regenerates, and will repair any damage taken to the object. Minor damage like cracks or bends usually repair on their own within a few seconds. As long as the majority of the object (or its pieces) are touching one another, it can regenerate even from dust in less than a minute's time.
Additionally, any undead creature, or character with Dark Affinity, will feel discomfort and fear while around anything made from Blessed Bismuth. Affected creatures will seek to avoid the material, or its wielder, so long as doing so does not endanger their life or anything they greatly value.
The Blessed Bismuth (material) treasure does not appear verbatim within the official Zelda series. However, it can be interpreted to exist from context, initially so in Skyward Sword.
