Bestial Form is an unusual trait, which usually befalls the user due to imbibing a strange elixir, casting a spell improperly, or receiving a curse. Most who have been cursed with a Bestial Form see it negatively, but it can be useful, especially if the user is able to transform out of the form.
When the user is cursed into a bestial form, he is forced into the form of one animal or animal-like creature, and cannot normally return to his original shape. The animal cannot be less than 50% of the user's original size, nor more than 200% his original size. This animal cannot possess any extraordinary abilities, cannot fly, cannot have humanoid shape, and cannot be a particularly unusual animal, except due to treasures the user already possesses. Examples of allowable animals include a wolf, dog, bear, dolphin, large fish, large lizard, octorok, tektite, small dodongo, or pony, among others.
While in animal form, the user cannot talk with normal means, but can communicate with a treasure which crosses language boundaries like Language of Fauna. Unless a treasure requires a feature of the user's original body, the user is usually able to use it in Bestial Form.
Normally, the user can only escape the Bestial Form with a treasure which enables him to transform into a different shape, such as a Transformation Mask or the Fell Transformation treasure. However, with the augment of Form Control, listed below, he can change between his normal form and bestial form at will.
Augments

The user can gain the Form Control, Anthropomorphic Form, or Winged Flight augment simultaneously with the original treasure for an additional cost, or as a separate treasure at a later time.
The Form Control augment normally comes in the form of either a separate Technique, Spell or Magical Item, which is separate from the Bestial Form. With this technique, spell or item, the user is able to transform between his bestial form and normal form at will. The process generally takes a couple seconds where the user is helpless, but is otherwise harmless.
If the user has gained Bestial Form multiple times, he is treated as having multiple Bestial Forms. Using Form Control, he can transform between these different forms in addition to his normal form.
The Form Control augment cannot affect other beings in bestial form; it only is able to change the user's own form.
Anthropomorphic Form

20 rupees |
The Anthropomorphic Form augment enables the user's bestial form to take on humanoid shape, gain opposable thumbs, and speak the words of men. If the user has multiple bestial forms, this only affects one form. Unless the user also has the Form Control augment, he cannot return to his more animal-like form once he becomes anthropomorphic.
This augment does not grant the user's form extra limbs (i.e., an anthropomorphic horse would not have four legs and two arms, it would only have two legs and two arms). If the user has multiple bestial forms, this augment only affects one, but can be gained multiple times to affect multiple forms.
If the anthropomorphic form is gained simultaneously with the original treasure, it can be used to gain animal forms not normally allowed, such as an ape.

The Winged Flight form must be gained simultaneously with the original treasure. This augment allows the user's bestial form to have wings, effectively giving it the Winged Flight treasure. As such, it enables the user's bestial form to be one not normally allowed, such as a large flying insect, a loftwing, or a sizable bird.
If the user has multiple bestial forms, this augment only affects one, but can be gained multiple times to affect multiple forms.
