An Armor Seed appears as a pale blue fruit with a crystalline appearance that visually resembles a diamond. This single seed is pure and potent, and as such can be useful as a material to be used by a Botanist. By contrast, a Armor Seed Supply is a collection of less pure seeds which retain the same practical use, but cannot be grown and cultivated by a Botanist. Using just four of these potent seeds, a skilled Botanist can cultivate a Armor Seed Supply.
When one of these seeds is eaten, the eater feels a momentary surge of power not unlike adrenaline. For up to a couple minutes, the user is able to endure physical pain noticeably better than usual, and physical injury the user receives seems to be almost halved. Repetitive use of this effect in a short period is prone to backfiring and causing a feeling of weakness and headaches for several minutes instead.
When used by a Botanist, these seeds are useful for creating an effect related to the Empower field. It is particularly associated with defensive effects.
Seed Effects
By using three Armor Seeds, along with at least three other seeds, a Botanist is able to create a Seed Supply with one of the following effects. These effects will combine with the effects of other seed types used as materials.
Effect Name | Description of Effect |
---|---|
Armor | The normal effect of a Razor Seed occurs. |
Iron | When the seed impacts a physical object, that object abruptly triples in weight and density. This can give a light wooden stick a consistency similar to iron. This effect doesn't stack with other effects which increase weight or density. The object returns to normal after a couple minutes. This seed can't affect a living or undead being. |
Shield | This effect can only be activated while the seed is held in the palm. Whenever the user tightly squeezes his or her fist, it creates a solid, magical barrier of a light blue color. This barrier is roughly the size of a Hylian Shield, and appears on the back of the user's fist. It is similarly able to deflect attacks similar to a steel shield, but is extremely lightweight in the user's palm. Like steel, this "shield" conducts electricity and transfers heat. |
Safeguard | When the seed is impacted or smeared against a handheld object, that object gains a temporary immunity to damage from heat, cold, electricity, Shadow damage, and Light damage, and similarly prevents it from catching flame or freezing. Direct physical damage, as from a sword or a fist, can still cause damage as normal. This effect lasts for several minutes at a time. |
Elixir Effects
Armor Seeds can also be combined with specific quantities of other seeds to create a PerQuest Elixir with one of the following effects. As usual, the Botanist is able to produce multiple elixirs if her Botanist level is high enough.

Elixir Name | Seeds | Resulting Effect |

Deku Skin Potion | 2 Armor + 2 Baba | Immediately after this potion is drunk the user's skin becomes as hard as the bark of an oak tree, but no less flexible. This is even harder than a Deku Scrub's or Goron's skin, and functions similar to metallic scalemail. However, akin to its namesake, the potion imposeses Fire Weakness unless the drinker has some means of negating such a weakness. This effect lasts for several minutes, but generally no more than ten. |
Mirror Oil | 2 Armor + 2 Glow | This oil can be splashed or smeared across any surface up to about 9 square feet (or 3 square feet). For the next several minutes, the surface becomes an extremely clear mirror. This surface pristine reflects not only light, but magical projectiles, such as those produced by magical items and spells. This effect is similar to that of a Mirror Shield or other object crafted from Mirror Silver. |
Trivia
- * Razor Seeds canonically appear in the Zelda series, initially in Four Swords. In that game, however, the seeds were more powerful, but particularly rare. More information about the canonical version can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
- Most Seed Effects and Elixir Effects are original creations of Hyrule Castle's members.
