A Piece of Power is a is a material a Weaponsmith can imbue into any item he or she would otherwise be able to craft. One of these pieces appears small golden triangle which some believe is a variation of Force Gem, while others believe is a shard spread throughout Hyrule when the Triforce was first created.
When the wielder of such a weapon focuses their willpower into it, the weapon is surrounded in a magical aura which doubles its power. Similarly, any WeaponBase effects using the weapon are also doubled in power. Any received injuries inflicted are doubled in severity, and strikes will hit twice as far. Often, the force is so great that foes may go flying back. This effect will last for several minutes at a time, after which the item will fade in color for nearly an hour. After its color returns, the effect can be activated again.
Single-Use Variant
In place of acquiring the material, a player may acquire a single, less potent Piece of Power for a mere 5 rupees. This piece can be consumed, or otherwise activated, once and only once for the user to gain the full effect of a Piece of Power for about a minute's time. After the effect ends, the piece becomes worthless ash.
Trivia
- Guardian Acorn can be seen as a defensive counterpart to the more offensive Piece of Power.
- The Piece of Power treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in Link's Awakening. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
