Compaction Thread is a colorless, magical thread with similar texture to cotton. It is primarily used by Outfitters as a material to craft magical garments, armor, or an accessory.

  • Gnat Garment: A garment which can be worn on any part of the body. When the garment is worn, the user abruptly shrinks to the size of a Picori over the course of a couple seconds. If the user is already Picori-sized, and doesn't have the Huge Potential trait, the user instead increases to a size comparable to a Kokiri or a Hylian child.
  • Compaction Pouch: A bag or sack, usually no more than a foot across. When an item is pushed inside, it is suddenly shrinks to 10% of its mass and weight, making for easy storage. When the item is drawn back from the pouch, it suddenly grows back to its former size. Naturally, the pouch can only hold items that are capable of fitting though its mouth in their normal size.
  • Shrinking Rope: When the rope is secured around an object, that object is abruptly reduced to roughly 10% of its normal size, or the size of a Picori. It doesn't affect organic objects, and as such, cannot be worn.

Trivia

  • Compaction Seeds, used by Botanists, have a similar shrinking effect.
  • The Compaction Thread (material) treasure is an original creation by one of Hyrule Castle's members. Its concept is credited to Guy.
