Navigation is a utility trait, and a racial perk for Kokiri. As such, a Kokiri can choose to gain it as a perk upon character creation. If a Kokiri chooses to gain this perk at some point after creation, the perk costs 15 rupees less than the listed cost.

Many Kokiri have an intrinsic sense of where they are and where they're going, even when all logic dictates otherwise. They can maintain this state and even while faces with illusions and mazes. One with this perk will never truly become lost, and as an innate understanding of their surroundings--as if they have a perfect mental map of everywhere they've been earlier in the day, and an approximate mental map of any current surroundings they cannot see. This "mental map" doesn't detect objects, but only walls and other barricades. The user can always discern north.

As a side effect, the user always see through illusions which attempt to place walls or physical boundaries that aren't actually present. Other illusions are as effective as normal, however.

The Navigation treasure does not appear verbatim within the official Zelda series. However, it can be interpreted to exist from context, initially so in Ocarina of Time.
