The mythical Vial of Winds appears as a small brown corked bottle, fitting in the palm of a typical Hylian. From a glance, the vial appears mundane, with no obvious clue as to what makes it unique. When uncorked, the bottle produces without end a jet steam of wind. The force is enough to knock over vases and perhaps small children, but not enough to be used as an attack. Once corked, the vial returns to its dormant state. This vial is highly sought by sailors for good reason, capable of moving small sail ships across ocean waters in the absence of favorable wind.

Notably, a Vial of Winds does not function in the presence of other Vials. Attempting to combine several of them together causes all of them to drastically reduce the amount of force produced.

If the user has a Specialty in the Wind field, this treasure never costs more than 5 rupees.

Trivia

  • This vial's ability to store a large amount of a fluid in a tiny space is comparable to the Bottomless Bottle and Adventure Pouch treasures.
  • The Vial of Winds treasure does not appear verbatim within the official Zelda series. However, it does appear in Zelda's Adventure, a non-canonical game related to the official series.
