The Imagiscope, or Imagine Scope, appears at a glance to be similar to a kaleidoscope or a small, handheld telescope. When the user looks into it, initially the scope will only show a blank, gray slate before his eye. If the user intentionally and vividly imagines a mental picture, it will gradually begin to form visibly inside the scope before the user's eye. Creating a simple image such as a stick figure may take a couple seconds, while a detailed memory could take a minute or more. Regardless, once the image is formed, the user can then pass the scope to another individual for them to see the image for themselves. There's nothing to prevent that individual from altering the image herself, nor from creating a new one in its place.

When the scope's eyepiece is exposed to bright light, such as pointing it up towards the sun, the image inside will completely vanish, thereby again becoming a featureless gray slate. If the eyepiece is never exposed to light, the image inside can be stored indefinitely.

Trivia

  • Other treasures useful for communicating complex ideas include the Pictograph Box, the Hearing Shell, and to some extent the Drift Quill.
  • The Imagiscope treasure is an original creation by one of Hyrule Castle's members. Its concept is credited to Guy.
