Mushsproing is a spell with a primarily defensive intent. To cast it, the user must place one palm on dirt or another natural surface and concentrate for several seconds. Initially, the only cue that the spell succeeded was a slightly off-color circle on ground, which is usually about 1 meter (or 3 feet) across.

Whenever a creature weighing at least as much as a housecat or cucco steps on the placed circle, a huge mushroom will abruptly launch out of the ground, flinging the creature into the air. The mushroom always rises at a speed dependent on the target's weight, so that the target is always launched almost exactly 3 meters (or 10 feet) upward into the air. The created mushroom is sufficiently soft that if the target lands on it on the way down, he should be safe. If the user was moving forward when the trap was sprung, however, he will likely be propelled forward when he goes airborne due to his momentum and may miss the mushroom on the way down.

The caster can only create one of these off-color circles on any patch of ground, as creating a new one will replace the last. However, once the trap is sprung and the mushroom is created, the mushroom itself is able to last for at least a day's time--potentially longer in the right climate--before rotting into the dirt.

Trivia

  • This treasure's ability to suddenly manifest large flora is similar to the Rising Oak spell.
  • The Mushsproing treasure is an original creation by one of Hyrule Castle's members. Its concept is credited to Guy.
