A Gibdo Mask is a defensive magical item. When worn, this mask covers the wearer in an illusion that makes him look exactly like a Gibdo of height equal to his own. The mask is complete with cloth wrapped around it, and underneath the cloth is the face of a Redead. If this cloth is removed before the mask is donned, the wearer will appear as a Redead. The cloth can be re-applied later to take the form of a Gibdo. Even other Gibdo and Redeads will be unable to see through the illusion; however, as the illusion is purely visual, and the user can give himself away if he doesn't act, smell, and sound the part. The wearer will gain no abilities of either a Gibdo or Redead, only taking on the appearance of one.
Trivia
- Similarly, the Like-Like Ring and Octo Ring also enable the wearer into a monster. Unlike the Gibdo Mask, the effect of either ring is a physical Transformation, and not just an illusion.
- The Gibdo Mask treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in Majora's Mask. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
