Hex is a disabling offensive spell. To use it, the caster focuses momentarily to blast a target with a blue gaseous aura, requiring physical contact with the intended target. Touching an object held by the target, such as a shield or sword, will cause the spell to fail. From ten to twenty seconds, depending on the target's mental and physical resilience, the target is completely ineffective at combat by way of disorientation, ineptitude, or just plain bad luck.
Normally, this spell can be used once per 3 minutes. With one level of Magic Power, it can be used once per minute. With two levels of Magic Power, it can be used once every 20 seconds. For the purposes of this spell, a user with a Dark Affinity is treated as having one more level of Magic Power than she actually does.
The Hex treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in The Legend of Zelda. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
