Common among battlefield mages and healers, the Hibernation spell puts the target into a state where he falls unconscious and his bodily processes slow down significantly, to the point where it is in-fact difficult to tell that he's alive. To cast it, the caster spends a minute in contact with the target performing the spell, focusing deeply throughout the duration, and inflicting the target with a tingling sensation throughout. As such, the target must either be willing, restrained, or subdued. Once this minute passes, the target enters a state of hibernation for up to two weeks, with the specific length of time being decided by the caster.

While the target is in this state of hibernation, his body's injuries, needs, and diseases will pause, growing no worse. Any injuries inflicted upon him in this state will still be inflicted, but become no worse. During hibernation, he requires no food or water, and extremely little air. This effectively enables more proficient healers to tend to a wounded individual, or keep a prisoner from consuming resources, among other niche ueses.

Typically, the target will not awaken prematurely except by a treasure which acts as a stimulate, awakens its target, or relieves drug-like effects from its target. When awakened prematurely in this fashion, the target will be sore, strained, fatigues, and may suffer one or more other temporary physical ailments, such as clammy skin or vomiting. Regardless of how the target is awoken, he will find himself incredibly hungry and thirsty.

The Hibernation treasure is an original creation by one of Hyrule Castle's members. Its concept is credited to Razgriz.
