A Hyoi Pear appears somewhat similarly to a normal pear, and has comparable nutritional content, but bears on one side several mutation spots which resemble a face. Though few know how this was first discovered, the pear has a unique effect: when this fruit is worn atop one's head, and a bird of any kind (even a Rito) comes along and eats it, the user's body will enter a trance while their mind takes control of the bird's body as if it was their own. The user loses all sensation and control from their host body. This effect will cancel if either body takes damage, if the user willingly returns to their body, if it otherwise lasts more than 10 minutes, or if the controlled bird moves more than 300 feet (or 100 meters) away from the user.
The Hyoi Pear Supply is a Stock treasure which gives the owner an effectively infinite supply of these seeds, costing a set 20 rupees. An individual Hyoi Pear is a Single-Use item, can be acquired at a cost of 3 rupees. An individual Hyoi Pear can only be used once.
A Botanist can craft with individual Hyoi Pears (but not with a supply of them). A skilled botanist can use 3 single Hyoi Pears to craft a Hyoi Pear Supply. Using 4 individual pears, the botanist can splice a Hyoi Pear's bird-controlling effect into a supply of other seeds, fruits, or vegetables.
The Hyoi Pear Supply treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in The Wind Waker. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
