Jinx, also known as Blue Bubble's Curse, is a disabling offensive spell. To use it, the caster focuses momentarily on a melee weapon or a piece of ammunition held in her hand. The next being other than the caster to come into contact with the cursed weapon--excluding deflecting it with a shield or weapon--will be temporarily afflicted with its effect. The target loses the ability to use any spell, technique, magical item, mechanical item, or organic items. In effect, the only type of treasure the target can still use are traits. For the duration of this effect, the target's body may be surrounded in a faint dark blue aura. The effect itself can last for up to 30 seconds, but can be removed by other treasures which relieve ailments, such as Rejuvenation or Life.

Normally, this spell can be used once per minute. With one level of Magic Power, it can be used once every 20 seconds. With two levels of Magic Power, it can be used once every few seconds. For the purposes of this spell, a user with a Dark Affinity is treated as having one more level of Magic Power than she actually does.

Trivia

  • The Jinx treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in The Legend of Zelda.
  • Both Hex and Jinx are Shadow spells which require physical contact with a target, and hinder the target's ability to fight without dealing damage.
