A Mermaid Suit, also known as Merman Mail, this suit covers up the lower half of the user's body, painlessly transforming it into a fish-like tail. Through an unexplainable magic, it enables the wearer to breathe underwater so long as it is worn, and swim with the elegance and power of a mermaid... or merman. Additionally, whoever wears it will be mostly protected from water damage. While the forceful impact of water can still cause harm, soaking in calm water for any length of time will not cause harm to the wearer. A skilled Tailor can create a Mermaid Suit from a single supply of Silver Scales.
The wearer of a Mermaid Suit will negate any weakness to water he or she would otherwise have, making it particularly useful for Koroks, Subrosians, and Deku Scrubs. A Mrtmsif can be removed from its wearer, to instead wrap an object, thus keeping the object from suffering water damage.
Trivia
- A Zora Tunic similarly protects from water, but doesn't transform its wearer's body.
- The Mermaid Suit treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in Oracle of Ages. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
