Plummeting Blade is an offensive technique, which requires the user to have a melee weapon, and be airborne when it is executed. By taking a moment to concentrate his inner strength into his weapon (or his fist, or foot), and pointing it directly towards the ground, this technique can be activated. The user's momentum, if he has any, completely stops, and he abruptly plummets to the ground with a starting velocity of about 1/3 of his terminal velocity--that is, the maximum speed he can reach in free-fall--which is about 40mph (or 65 km/h) for a Hylian. So long as this technique is used properly, neither the user nor his weapon will endure considerable damage from the impact, despite the immense speed.
The Plummeting Blade treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in The Minish Cap. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
