While the Snowshoe Ring is worn on one's finger, the wearer gains two benefits. First, he never sinks into snow, and can always walk effortlessly across the top of it. Second, he can choose to maneuver over the surface of ice, or any other water-soaked surface, as if he had perfect traction. Neither of these effects benefit the wearer on surfaces not composed of water. For instance, the wearer will still slip normally on surfaces lubricated with oil.
The Snowshoe Ring treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in Oracle of Ages. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
