A Whirlwind appears as a handheld gun, with a fan composed of leaf blades where the barrel would be. Firing it can be done by blowing into it or pulling a trigger, which in either cast unleashes a compact whirlwind which shoots forward out of the barrel at a running speed. This whirlwind carries with it any small items it picks up, and will only disperse when it hits a solid object or body of water. It's too small to cause direct damage, but can be disorienting, particularly to small or airborne creatures.
The Whirlwind treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in Spirit Tracks. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
