Heart of Darkness is a utility trait, and a racial perk for Garo and Twili. As such, a member of either race can choose to gain it as a perk upon character creation, or gain it later as a normal treasure. If the treasure is gained later, a member of either benefiting race may gain it at half its normal cost.
Due to their origins, many Garo and Twili have a natural proficiency for Shadow treasures. When determining the cost of such a treasure, treat each of the user's PWC attributes as each being 2 points higher, to a maximum of 5.
