A Skulltula Suit typically appears as off-white cloth or armor, with yellow and black accents. It has two separate effects, either of which can be activated at will of the wearer.

First, the suit can be commanded to dissolve into a swarm of tiny, harmless spiders that cannot bite. The spiders will normally cling to or follow the wearer, but can be commanded to swarm another person or object instead, or told to travel in any direction the user designates. They do not understand more complex commands, cannot be separated into smaller groups, and cannot manipulate objects or attack. So long as a few spiders in the swarm return to the user, they can all be made to transform back into the normal suit.

Secondly, the wearer can cause the suit to transform the lower half of their body into a skulltula or spider. This is most notable in that it enables the wearer to climb walls and even ceilings, and makes them particularly difficult to trip up. The user can easily transform back into their normal body at any time.

Trivia

  • A Mermaid Suit and Serpent Suit each has a similar effect, transforming the wearer's lower half into a fish or snake respectively.
  • The Skulltula Suit treasure is an original creation by one of Hyrule Castle's members. Its concept is credited to Guy.
