To acquire the Remote Bomb spell, the user must already possess a Bomb Bag, Bombchu Supply, Bombling Supply, or Mini Bomb Supply.
The Remote Bomb functions as an enhancement to any or all of the prerequisite treasures. Whenever the user sets a Bomb, Bombchu, Bombling, or Mini Bomb, he may momentarily focus his magical energy into it--which causes the bomb to become "activated." At any time, the caster can detonate an "activated" bomb prematurely by sharply focusing upon it. Remote Bomb cannot be used to activate a bomb he did not set himself, nor a bomb he doesn't own.
When activating a bomb from a Bomb Bag or a Mini Bomb Supply, the user can set or throw one without lighting the fuse, then wait indefinitely before detonating it with Remote Bomb. This cannot be done with a Bombchu or Bombling however--one of these must be lit and allowed to scurry forth before the user can use detonate it with Remote Bomb.
Trivia
- Powder Charges can also be used to detonate explosives remotely, among other uses, but are more volatile and difficult to set up.
- Landmines can be detonated remotely as well, but rob the user of direct control.
- Remote Bombs canonically appear in the official The Legend of Zelda series, beginning with The Minish Cap. More about the canonical version of this treasure can be found on Zelda Wiki.
