When the Like-Like Ring is worn on one's finger like any other ring, it will transform the wearer into a common Like-Like. This Like-Like form will have an unusual color, shape, or other visual cue that hints it isn't a normal Like-Like, but doesn't otherwise give away that the wearer isn't a true Like-Like. All of the wearer's clothing and items will be consumed in the transformation. While a Like-Like, the user can swallow enemies, eat shields, and physically act as a Like-Like does, while retaining the soul and mind of their former self. Some spells or techniques can be used in this form, if using it does not require hands or other implements the Like-Like lacks. At any point during this transformation, the user can will himself back into his former shape, causing the ring to appear in his palm. Any afflictions he gains in one form transfers to the other.

Trivia

  • An Outfitter can treat a Like-Like Ring as a material for the purpose of combining its effects with other materials or treasures into any item she can craft. When determining how many materials the Outfitter can craft into one item, treat this item as though it had a set cost of 20 rupees.
  • The Octo Ring similarly transforms the wearer into a monster. The Gibdo Mask can make the wearer appear as a monster, without actually changing his form.
  • The Like-Like Ring treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in Oracle of Seasons & Oracle of Ages. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
