At a glance, Cheval Rope appears to be nothing more than simple, twisted hemp rope. It is made of extremely strong components which are treated and interwoven in such a perfect way that the resulting rope is water-resistant, heat-resistant, inflammable, and is virtually impossible to break without the use of an Offensive Major treasure, or other force with specifically equivalent power. One instance of Cheval Rope represents an instance of about 30 feet (or 10m). Because of its incredibly durable nature, breaking up Cheval Rope into smaller segments can take hours of continuous labor.
A woodworker can function as an expert on Cheval Rope, and treats Cheval Rope as a material. For a woodworker, Cheval Rope never costs more than 15 rupees, and can be gained as a material would be, or crafted as a crafted item would be. Furthermore, a woodworker's expertise enables them to unwind Cheval Rope into smaller lengths, or combine two instances into longer lengths, in a matter of minutes.
A blacksmith or tailor is less familiar with Cheval Rope, but can still treat it as a material to be consumed in creating appropriate objects made from it. For example, a blacksmith could create a shield strapped to the user's arm with a shorter piece of Cheval Rope.
Trivia
- Goron Iron, another material, has a similar property of being virtually indestructible.
- The Cheval Rope treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in Oracle of Ages. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
