A Bomb Flower appears as a small leafy plant with a fist-sized spherical black explosive growing out of it, known commonly as a "bomb." A bomb is highly volatile, and will explode abruptly if exposed to flame or struck. If a bomb is forcefully pulled from the plant, it will defensively light a "fuse" lasting about five seconds. When the fuse runs out, the bomb will explode violently. Normally, this fuse cannot be put out without rendering the bomb inert. Once a bomb explodes or is removed from the flower, another will grow to replace it within seconds.
Notably, a Bomb Flower needs to be placed in several feet of adequate soil and watered regularly, making it particularly difficult for an adventurer to carry around. A more handy supply of bombs can be obtained in the Bomb Bag treasure.
