The Palm of Gohdan is a magical glove, used for defensive purposes. The glove itself can come either in the form of an armored gauntlet, or a cloth fingerless glove. In either case, it is a blue-gray color with cyan accents.
When the user thrusts forward the hand that is wearing the Palm of Gohdan and concentrates for several seconds, emerging from the outstretched palm comes a large, solid, floating hand composed of stone. The hand is only slightly shorter than the user, very thick, and very durable. Although its formation is too slow to block direct attacks, it is useful for making impromptu cover on a battlefield. The summoned hand will persist for about 1 minute, before it crumbles to the ground and vanishes.
The created hand can move through the user's direct control, by focusing on their glove and concentrating. The hand is able to move in any position a normal hand would, and can even float through the air. The hand cannot hover above a distance equal to the user's height, however. (If it is created above this height, it will slowly fall down to an appropriate height.) Although the hand is extremely strong and hardy, it also moves extremely slowly--far slower than any living creature's hand would. As such, it cannot attack, but can provide moving cover, crush non-moving objects, lift extremely heavy objects, or push extremely heavy objects. Its limit for lifting or pushing is about 1 ton, which is just shy of 1000kg.
The user cannot summon a new hand until the last one disappears on its own. Shield Breaker can pierce through a summoned hand, but does not outright destroy it. Otherwise, any force that could effectively destroy a cubic foot of steel could break the summoned hand. Even when it is destroyed, the user must still wait about 1 minute before summoning a new one.
Trivia
- Barrier can create a wall of force that protects the user in a similar fashion. Unlike this treasure, a Barrier can be created instantly, but only lasts for an instant.
- The Palm of Gohdan treasure is an original creation by one of Hyrule Castle's members. Its concept is credited to Guy. Its name and appearance is styled after Gohdan, a boss which canonically appears in The Wind Waker.
