The Cane of Stahead appears as a small cane about the length of one's forearm with a rounded tip, and usually of an amber color.

When the cane is swung towards the ground, it will abruptly spawn a cubical statue of stone, dirt, or whatever material it us summoned upon. The cubical statue usually depicts a monstrous face, and is about 1 meter (or 3 feet) tall and just as wide. The statue can only be summoned in an open, flat area, and cannot be physically separated from the ground upon which it rests without being destroyed.

Once about every 5 to 10 seconds, the statue will fire a slow-moving projectile towards anyone the wielder of the cane mentally designates as an enemy. This projectile is about the size of a Goron's head, and travels about as fast as a typical person can sprint. If the statue was formed on natural ground, it will shoot a fiery projectile that burns and ignites on impact. If the statue was formed on unnatural or artificial floor, it will shoot an electric projectile that jolts and electrifies on impact. The statue will continue to fire these projectiles until all foes lose consciousness or leave the area.

Normally, the user can manifest only one of these statues at a time. Attempting to create a second will cause the last one to be destroyed. If a statue is destroyed or heavily damaged for any reason, it will vanish into thin air, and the user can summon another in its place.

Trivia

  • A Weaponsmith can treat a Cane of Stahead as a material for the purpose of combining its effects with other materials or treasures into one weapon. For determining how many materials the Weaponsmith can craft into one item, treat this item as though it had a set cost of 20 rupees. A Cane of Stahead with the Multiple Statues augment has a variable cost. For each instance of the Multiple Statues augment in the material, increase its cost by 4 rupees.
  • This cane's ability to abruptly spawn cubical structures is similar to that of the Cane of Somaria, which itself creates lift-able blocks.
  • Although nothing quite like this cane appears in canon, the statures it creates are based on cubical statues firing projectiles which appear in many games throughout the series, starting with the original The Legend of Zelda.
