Position defines a player's rank on Hyrule Castle. There are three of these so-called ranks, namely Newcomer, Regular, and Veteran. Each position offers slight benefits over the one before it.

Newcomer

Any player who has freshly joined Hyrule Castle is a Newcomer, or "Newbie." A Newcomer is expected to read the Guide to Hyrule Castle and, if interested in role-playing here, create a character and begin having adventures.

Any player has a slight restriction on creating his or her first character. It must be of a common race--such as Hylian or Goron--as less common races are exclusive to Regulars and Veterans.

For every character a Newcomer creates, the player assigns it 4 additional PWC points, in addition to the baseline PWC points provided by the character's race.

After 30 days of activity, a Newcomer should be promoted to Regular. Feel free to notify a Staff Member if it's been 30 days and you are not yet promoted.

Regular

It is assumed that a Regular has made at least one character as a Newcomer. A Regular should be familiar with Hyrule Castle and its workings, and understands concepts like PWC, Treasures, and character creation.

For every character a Regular creates, the player still assigns it 4 additional PWC points, in addition to the baseline PWC points provided by the character's race. A Regular is able to create a character any common race, without using example origins. However, a Regular also gains many new race options when it comes to character creation. He or she can create an Unusual Companion for one of her existing characters, at the cost of 50 rupees. Additionally, the Regular may acquire one or more Race Licenses to play as an Uncommon or Elite race, such as Skull Kid or Darknut.

It is assumed that most players are Regulars, and will not be promoted to Veteran. To be considered for promotion, a Regular is expected to be an active and skilled role-player, be particularly knowledgeable of Hyrule Castle, and go out of his or her way for the benefit of the site or its members. Such a player should be both experienced and trustworthy. Generally, a potential Veteran will need to keep this up for many months before being considered. If a Staff Member is particularly wise, he will privately contact this Regular and offer him or her to be promoted to Veteran.

Veteran

Once a player reaches the position of Veteran, the position is generally kept so long as the member remains active. Any active staff member of Hyrule Castle is considered to be an honorary Veteran.

For every character a Veteran creates, the player assigns it 5 additional PWC points, in addition to the baseline PWC points provided by the character's race. Upon being promoted to Veteran, the player may give an additional point to every character created as a Regular. Furthermore, the Major Gain treasure is less costly for a Veteran.

A Veteran has free access to Uncommon Races, and can obtain a Race License for Elite Races. If the Veteran previously acquired a Race License for an Uncommon Race as a Regular, the Veteran can return the additional rupees spent to the character(s) who originally paid for the License(s).

A Veteran has the option to approve characters, quests, and dungeons in which he or she did not participate. When appropriate, the Veteran must message a Staff Member to make the appropriate changes, such as moving threads or changing user groups. A Veteran is never expected to do such things, but can do so if they desire to help out.

Finally, Veterans have access to a hidden forum available only to other Veterans. This forum is intended to be used for matters such as grading quests, or discussion of similar Veteran or Staff-related topics.
