Mask Collector
Type Major Utility Trait
Fields Headgear, PWC, Transform
Cost 100 rupees

A Mask Collector is an individual who is utterly obsessed with collecting Transformation Masks, to the point he sacrifices the ability to easily collect other treasures.

Any character who gains this trait can gain any number of Transformation Masks at a cost of 50 rupees each, instead of 100. Such masks are never considered to be Major Treasures for him. Any Transformation Mask gained in this way cannot be used by another character. Upon gaining this trait, he can gain one such Transformation Mask for free.

Any character who gains this trait must also adhere to several limitations:

  • He can never easily obtain a treasure which isn't a Transformation Mask, isn't the Song of Healing, and isn't a racial perk specific to the race of a Transformation Mask he holds. From now on, any such treasure has three times its normal cost for him.
  • He cannot gain the Crafting or Profession treasures. If he has any, he forgets how to use them, instead lost to the obsession of collecting masks.
  • Excluding the Mask Collector treasure itself, he cannot have any other Major Treasures. If he already has such a treasure, he cannot become a Mask Collector until he finds some means of permanently losing such treausres.

Trivia

The Mask Collector treasure is an original creation by one of Hyrule Castle's members. Its concept is credited to SenpaiPancake. It seems to be based on the Mask Salesman who initially appeared in Ocarina of Time.
